Epson EH-TW5300 Reviews: (Aka Home Cinema 2040) |
|

|
"This Epson is bright enough to use as a general Home Entertainment projector. That translates to having enough horsepower to be used in less than ideal rooms, with some ambient light present. Right off the bat, it’s really great for sports which is a typical use in such rooms, be it a living room, bonus room, or spare bedroom. And don’t forget, it’s small enough, light enough, and has a built in speaker, so that you can take it outside for those nighttime summer movie festivals – or whatever else you like.
At the same time, it’s not so bright that it can’t be used in a fully darkened room, aka, a home theater or cave. That is a problem for some very bright projectors. Versatile!

"The Home Cinema EH-TW5300 has the same smooth, natural, balanced picture found on the EH-TW5200, as well as the same inexpensive lamp replacements. However, it also includes a number of features (Frame Interpolation, Detail Enhancement, 2D to 3D conversion) normally found only on more expensive projectors. And gamers will be thrilled to hear that it has less input lag than most other projectors, marking a significant improvement for Epson and making the EH-TW5300 an excellent gaming machine." |

3LCD Technology
All Epson projectors are based on 3-chip LCD technology for amazing colour, incredible detail and solid reliability. 3LCD’s 3-chip architecture dedicates an entire chip to process each primary colour – red, green and blue, continuously. Unlike single-chip technology that delivers colour sequentially, you get full-time colour. The result is vibrant, realistic images and video all delivered with 3LCD’s true-to-life colour.
3x Brighter Colours with Epson*
Brilliant image quality requires high colour brightness (colour light output), and Epson® 3LCD projectors have 3 x Brighter Colours than leading competitive projectors*. One brightness measurement (lumens) is not enough. A projector's specification needs to show both high colour brightness and high white brightness. If colour brightness is lower than white brightness, images may be dark, dull and lose detail. If not provided, be sure to ask for a projector's colour brightness specification.
* Compared to leading 1-chip DLP business and education projectors based on NPD data, July 2011 through June 2012. Colour brightness (colour light output) measured in accordance with IDMS 15.4. Colour brightness will vary depending on usage conditions.
Amazing Full HD 1080p Entertainment
1080p resolution ensures an amazing, larger-than-life HD experience, while high colour brightness delivers bright, vibrant image quality – whether it’s a blockbuster movie, live sporting event or videogame.

Detail Enhancement
Makes DVDs and standard definition content come alive via its mixed colour separation techniques and imaging simulation. It delivers crisp, clear images with super high-quality resolution. It also sharpens blurry images that have been enlarged by a general upscaling process.
Frame Interpolation
Film is encoded on Blu-ray at 24 frames per second. FineFrame deconstructs and reconstructs these sources for a 1080p frame rate output of up to 120Hz, virtually eliminating flicker and frame-to-frame judder. The 4:4 pulldown function also makes corrections for improperly encoded sources, and features a reverse 2:3 pulldown detection and correction function.
