CASIO has applied its unique new Laser & LED Hybrid Light Source to achieve breakthrough development of a mercury-free high-brightness projector. Adopting a new semiconductor-based light source system combining a blue laser, phosphor and a red LED, we have achieved both high-brightness performance enabling projection in well-lit rooms and environmental friendliness with mercury eliminated from the light source.

Revolutionary new light source technology CASIO developed a new semiconductor light source technology combining a red LED, phosphor and a blue laser. This source achieves high luminance safely by employing a phosphor device to modify the wavelengths and phases of blue laser light.

New illumination technology

The new and innovative semiconductor light-source technology developed by CASIO combines LEDs and laser light to create a completely new, mercury-free light source. The new generation of projectors with laserand LED-hybrid light sources has an illuminative performance of up to 2,500 ANSI lumens, creating brilliant, natural colours for impressive presentations – even in daylight. This revolutionary light source has a 20,000-hour life expectancy, and can be switched on and off without any significant delays – full power is available after only eight seconds!

Compared with conventional high-brightness projectors employing mercury lamps, this cuts the cost as well as the time and effort involved in exchanging lamps dramatically, while at the same time maintaining clear, high-quality images over an extended period by reducing the tendency toward degradation of the brightness.

The new generation of projectors has arrived, thanks to the new CASIO models with an operational life of up to 20,000 hours without changing lamps. This means a ten-fold improvement in performance against the conventional lamps used in CASIO projectors (approx. life of 2,000 hours). 20,000 hours means: 10,000 two-hour business presentations, or over 13,000 live football matches viewed in large format at home with friends. A new projector from CASIO is a profitable investment for the future, above all when you think of the considerable follow-up costs for replacing conventional projector lamps: assuming a service life of around 20,000 hours, you would need to buy up to nine new lamps with total costs amounting to about $3,600.

The projector reaches its maximum brightness as quickly as 8 seconds after it's turned on, significantly shortening the time before you start your presentation. Since it doesn't need time to cool down afterwards, either, you can conduct your presentations cleanly and efficiently, from setting up to packing up.

The dramatically enhanced colour purity achieved by our Laser & LED Hybrid Light Source technology results in superior colour reproducibility and brighter, more beautiful colouration. High-purity colour visual effects also generate brighter images, enabling you to present clear, powerful visuals that conventional projectors can't match.

The product lineup includes both 1,280 x 800 dot (16:10) WXGA Real and 1,024 x 768 dot (4:3) XGA Real models that realize high-density images benefiting fully from high resolution. They also support 1,600 x 1,200 dot UXGA compressed presentation.

 

AV terminal
Connect a VCR, video camera or other audio-visual equipment to the AV terminal and use it as a VIDEO input terminal for projecting images. You can also use it as an AUDIO input (output) terminal to play back audio recordings from a PC on the built-in speaker.
*Audio playback with the speaker or connection to external speaker for presentations made from a USB memory device is also possible.

Computer terminal
Images can be projected on a PC screen by simply connecting the PC to the RGB input terminal.

HDMI terminal
AV equipment such as HD televisions and DVD recorders can be connected to the HDMI terminal with a single cable. This enables you to project high-definition images on a large screen while maintaining high image quality.

App for smartphones and tablets
Ready for the revolution: an app for the Ultra Short Throw projector from CASIO.
Specially designed for the new Ultra Short Throw projector, an app has been developed that could shape the lessons of tomorrow. This highly innovative app allows modern media such as tablets and smartphones to be easily incorporated into lessons and opens up whole new possibilities when it comes to lesson design. With this app, CASIO is keeping pace with the latest technological developments – after all, many teachers now use a tablet or smartphone.

Wireless presentations with smart devices. Once installed on a tablet or smartphone, the app can be used to directly control the projector. Whether from the teacher’s desk or elsewhere in the classroom, the presentation is projected wirelessly in large-screen format. A new kind of presentation is quickly and easily made possible, as the person giving the presentation is able to move freely around the room and interact with their audience – making classic front-of-the-classroom teaching a thing of the past. Tip: During the frequently hectic school day, the projector remote control is often not to hand – no problem with the CASIO app, which features an integrated remote control. Common fi le formats such as PDF, JPG and even Power- Point to Go are supported.

Projecting spontaneous camera pictures. With the app from CASIO, making politics and history lessons more interesting with newspaper clippings or documenting the methods used for successful chemistry or physics experiments is no problem whatsoever. Simply take pictures or record videos with the tablet or smartphone and use the app to show them in real time and large-screen format. During the presentation, content can be edited and then saved, allowing information to be shared quickly with the whole class and topics to be illustrated in an engaging and lifelike way.

Accessing the PC from a tablet. Once opened on a PC, software products and presentations can be controlled from a tablet using the app. The app therefore enables the tablet to be used as a remote control for the PC.

Engaging, interactive teaching.
With the app, it is possible to draw or write in the presentation in real time and for the whole class to follow the changes in the projection. As a result, teaching becomes more vivid and engaging. All edits can be saved at any time and reused later.

Projecting Web data via the browser.
The app can also be used to integrate data from the Internet into presentations. Many mobile terminal devices now offer direct Internet access and wireless capability. The app enables the browser window to be incorporated directly into the presentation. This means that up-to-date information can be projected directly in large-screen format (Internet access required).
In this instance, the multiple wireless connections are controlled using a router (access point).

Easy PC or Laptop Wireless Connection
The Casio Network Connection Software allows connection with a PC or laptop using minimal setup.

To make presentations without a PC, simply save your presentation materials such as PowerPoint (2003/2007), image (JPEG/BMP) and even movie (Motion JPEG/AVI format) in a USB memory device commercially available and project them directly from the projector (USB 2.0-compliant).
