W100 Reviews:

" We we're quite happy with the picture with tests done on both DVD movies and Xbox 360 games and it performed flawlessly. The low price does mean a lower resolution but we were quite happy with an image size of up to 2 metres wide. The colour and contrast was very good and the unit is quiet, coupled with that price tag it's a winner! "

HDTV Compatible

The BenQ W100 supports a wide range of digital video formats, including 480p, 576p, 720p, and 1080i, enabling it to work with many high-definition TV systems. It provides superb picture quality with natural motion, crisp details, and vibrant colors for the most realistic viewing experience.

True Human Visual Perception

Drawing on extensive consumer research and customer feedback, BenQ employs a seven-segment color wheel (RGBRGBW) and an advanced gamma adjustment technology to deliver optimum color rendering that is closer to true human visual perception, delivering true color reproduction.

The 3D Image Projection

The BenQ W100 achieves a consistently high contrast ratio of 2500:1 that makes dark portions of the screen look darker and bright portions look brighter. Yet at the same time, there is no sacrifice in color saturation, so that image details requiring high contrast can be better displayed. That means you can scrutinize the details of a displayed object as though it were actually right there in front of your eyes.

Versatile Video Input Connectivity

The BenQ W100's wide range of ports means you can watch video from nearly any source-a PC, DVD player, digital camcorder, game console, and HDTV set, among them. Two sets of component video jacks let you keep two different source devices (such as a DVD player and gaming console) attached, sparing you the hassle of attaching and detaching them. And the linear arrangement of these jacks ensures that your
plugs don't get tangled up when attaching devices.

Front Ventilations design

The front-mounted ventilation system eliminates the annoying light leakage and vented hot air that can disturb viewers behind the projector. User can even place the BenQ W100 on a bookshelf or against a wall without worrying about overheating.

What we Say

Without a doubt, this new release from BenQ is the best value home theatre projector we have come accross. Unlike the traditional entry-level projectors this unit comes with the incredible high speed 7 segment colour wheel resulting in excellent colour. The unit is designed for a darkened 'cinema style' room however the higher contrast seems to improve the brightness level a bit, even with the blinds open we still get quite a bright image.
Similar to the BenQ MP series, this unit is very quiet in operation and includes the long lamp life, lowering the on-going running costs. Another important feature to mention is this unit not only has a DVI-I connection but 2 dedicated component video inputs making it very easy to connect high quality component cabling from multiple sources (ie, dvd player, set top box). Oh... and did I mention it is a true 16:9 widescreen projector? Having the native 16:9 widescreen projector will give you the true cinema experience matching the aspect ratio of most DVD's. Also for all those gaming addicts, this unit works great with the high definition output of the Xbox 360!
If you have looking for a great home theatre or movie projector under $1500, this is it.
