Review
The MovieTime DV10 is a user-friendly projector. It has a built-in top-loading DVD player into which you can insert a DVD and start enjoying a movie in a matter of seconds. With the high-throw-ratio lens, you can position the projector close to the wall or screen without sacrificing image size or quality. Add to this a set of crisp-sounding internal speakers and you have yourself an exceptional projector. |

Review
Optoma has designed a projector that both the first-time buyer and the experienced projector user can enjoy. It is light, bright, portable, and produces a great image, comparable to Optoma's H31 or other high quality 480p projectors. With the integrated DVD player, wiring is kept to a minimum, and the projector can be packed away in its included carrying case when not in use. If you are interested in portable, part time home theater in a living room or family room, the MovieTime DV10 offers a complete package that eliminates the hassles of cable clutter and connections. Selling at street prices around $1500(US) at the time of this article, the MovieTime DV10 is definitely worth a look. |

The MovieTime DV10 is hard not to like. Easy to setup, easy to move to a different location, and image quality comparable to virtually any other entry level projector, and better than many, it should gain a huge following.

Optoma has done what HP attempted and failed to do many years ago... a projector with an inbuilt dvd player and speaker system. HP once released a projector with an inbuilt DVD player, however while it was a convenient unit is had mediocre performance and a price tag exceeding the $3000 mark. The Optoma DV10 on the other hand is very affordable and offers an image that rivals most of others in its class.
The projector itself is slightly larger than most due to the inbuilt speakers and dvd player, however with a carry case included it is still very easy to transport. As far as the image quality goes we are very impressed. It features an incredible 4000:1 contrast ratio allowing for good reproduction of dark shades and good strong blacks. The DV10 also features an amazing 7 segment colour wheel running at 4X speed ensuring awesome colour reproduction and eliminating the chance of seeing the rainbow effect visible in older model DLP projectors.
Whilst the DV10 includes a DVD player inbuilt and ready to go, its worth a mention that it still includes all the inputs that a normal projector has.. such as VGA and composite. The rear is filled with an abundance of connections so you can plug in anything from a set top box to a computer. The speakers can also be bypassed allowing connection to a high end home theatre system via Optical or SPDIF.

This is truly an all in one solution, to start watching a movie you simply plug in to the power, pop a DVD into the top, and face the unit towards a white wall or projector screen.... that's it. |
