Cabac HDMI over CAT6 network cable extender
The HDMIEXT HDMI EXTENDER makes use of CAT6 cables to extend the HDMI transmission upto 60m. This active
extension is a simple plug and play system that can be installed in seconds.
A sender converts from HDMI cable connection to TWO RJ45 sockets. TWO CAT6 patch cables, up to 60m, can then
be utilized. At the far end a receiver, powered by a power pack (included), converts the TWO CAT6 back to a HDMI
connector where a HDMI cable can deliver the signal to a display equipment such as an LCD TV, plasma TV or a video
projector.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed digital
audio/video data from a HDMI-compliant source device to a compatible digital audio/video display device. A digital
audio/video source for HDMI can include a HDMI-compliant set-top box, DVD player, HD DVD player, Blu-ray Disc
player, camcorder, personal computer, video game console and AV receiver. A HDMI-compliant display device can
include a computer monitor, video projector, and digital television.
A HDMI cable is used to connect the source device to the display device. Signal attenuation (dependent on the
cable's construction quality and conducting materials) usually limits usable lengths in practice. The HDMIEXT comes
in handy here to boost HDMI signal such that the display end can see the signal from the source as intended without
audio/video quality degradation. See below for cable extensions and cable type requirements.
So it is best suited for application where the signal source; such as a DVD player, Set-top-box or a DVR; is far away
from the display; such as TV, monitor or projector. Applications commonly found in larger residential houses,
commercial, industrial and retail environment. |
